You shouldn't shade with black man it makes everything look like a coal mine. I'm not a color expert but I think what the better way is to shade with colors like a warmer or coolor tone of the objects color or reflect the background color a bit if it's bright. Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, I dunno if you’re serious or not right now. First of all, I don’t use black to shade, just really dark color. I don’t want my art to be too colorful and vibrant. I admit, my shading does kinda suck but I’m working on it. It’s really damn hard to apply what I learned in painting class to digital work, it’s not just “Oh hey, I’m just gonna make things warmer.” Second, it’s kinda rude to just pop up out of nowhere and offer unwanted criticism. It irks me so much when people just come to me and tell me that something is wrong with my art, especially when I already know.
